2010 Hall of Fame Game: Same Players, Different Teams

The Cincinnati Bengals have opened as 3-point favorites in NFL lines at online sportsbooks for tonight’s 2010 Hall of Fame Game from Canton, OH against the Dallas Cowboys with an over/under total of 32.5. The first preseason game of the season will be telecast on NBC with an 8:00pm EST kick-off. Although the Bengals and Cowboys are in different conferences there will be plenty of familiarity for NFL betting fans with Terrell Owens, Pacman Jones and Tank Johnson wearing the orange and black of Cincinnati tonight but were all former Cowboys.

“It will be good to see him again,” said Cowboys wide receiver Patrick Crayton about Owens. “Him and a couple of other guys that were here and stuff. It’s always good to see old friends and old teammates.” Even though the starters will not see much action in tonight’s 2010 Hall of Fame game, Dallas quarterback Tony Romo will be looking to connect with his new receivers in the endzone as three point underdogs in NFL odds and will also be watching his former teammate Owens running routes for the Bengals. “It’ll be good to see them and say hi and wish them good luck, hopefully not quite as good against us. I root for them,” said Romo this week.

Cincinnati safety Roy Williams and Bengals defensive coordinator Mike Zimmer are also former Cowboys that make up what is being referred to as “Dallas North.” The Cowboys and Bengals both won their respective divisions last year and have playoff aspirations for 2010. Dallas is hoping to become the first team ever to play in the Super Bowl at their home stadium. It’s already been a special Hall of Fame weekend for the Cowboys as former star running back Emmitt Smith was inducted to the Hall on Saturday night as owner Jerry Jones was beaming in the background.
